Summer Reading Program Kickoff Party

School is out and summer reading is in! Join us for the biggest party of the summer as we launch the 2026 Summer Reading Program at Riverside Public Library. This year's theme, 'Adventure Awaits,' invites readers of all ages to explore new worlds through books, audiobooks, and digital media.

Kickoff Party Activities

• Live performance by children's musician Captain Book
• Face painting, balloon art, and craft stations
• Sign up for Summer Reading and receive your free reading log and tote bag
• Meet therapy dogs from Paws for Reading
• Free popsicles and lemonade
• Tour the Bookmobile and STEAM Lab

How Summer Reading Works

Read books, earn points, and win prizes all summer long. Children, teens, and adults each have their own reading tracks. Log your reading online or on paper. Every participant who reaches the reading goal receives a free book and a voucher for local attractions.
